SLHA has groups at Sleaford and Spalding

Sleaford History Group

The Sleaford Group organises a programme of talks and events for everybody interested in local history, family history or archaeology in the area.

Meetings, open to all, are held at 7.30 pm on the third Thursday of every month (except August) at St Denysís Church Room, off the Market Place close to the centre of Sleaford. A small charge is made to non-members.

The group also arranges occasional outings and research projects. It maintains a growing library of manuscript and typescript items, such as parish register transcripts.

The group also publishes a quarterly newsletter, The Sleaford Historian, copies of which are available for reference in Sleaford Library and on this website.

South Holland History Group (Spalding)

The Group meets once a month at St Johnís Church Lounge, Hawthorn Bank, Spalding, starting at 7.30 pm. It offers a programme of eleven lectures from September to July on topics covering archaeology, local history, general history, industrial history and Lincolnshire personalities.

The aim of the group is to promote and encourage an interest in the history of the County and the way of life in the south of the County. A welcome is offered to everyone; there is no membership fee, but a small donation is requested at each meeting.
