Pevsner describes the building material of St Mark's as "rock faced", i.e. roughly faced blocks. Unusually, this treatment includes the spire.
St Mark's Amcotts was built in 1853 on the site of an earlier chapel.
The church has a rough stone exterior and has an Early English style. The interior has a painted hammer-beam roof.
The lancet windows in nave and chancel are characteristic of Victorian expression of the Early English Gothic style.
