A rare surviving 'tin tabernacle'. Christ Church was built in 1893 to the design of A. C. Wood, architect of Grantham.

It is the 'winter church' to Sempringham. It has heating; Sempringham doesn't.

The core of this building was originally a National School erected in 1863. With modern extensions and additions it is today’s St Gilbert of Sempringham CE Primary School.

Pointon lies 7 miles north of Bourne. It is part of the parish of Pointon and Sempringham.

The parish church is the isolated St Andrew’s at Sempringham. A ‘tin tabernacle’ was built in Pointon in 1893 as a Chapel of Ease.
