In May 2003 a History Fair was held in Washingborough Village Hall, with many local societies and organisations having stalls and advertising their activities.

The SLHA stand, seen here, was manned by Pam D'Arcy and Bernard Sullivan.

The annual lecture at Raithby Methodist Chapel was shared bewteen two speaker: Linda Crust (John Wesley and Lincolnshire Methodism) and Dr John Crompton (The Lincolnshire Landscape in Tennysonís Poems).

An afternoon's visit to Brocklesby led by Jon Sass began in the stable yard at Brocklesby Park and included a visit to the famous wooden clock attributed to John Harrison, 18th century clock and chronometer maker of Barrow on Humber.

The visit to Brocklesby also included entrance to the mausoleum to Lady Sophia, wife of the first Baron Yarborough. It was designed by Wyatt and built in 1786.

The voluntary work of Sheila MacPhail in several community organisations was recognised in a ceremony at the University of Lincoln on 6 December 2004.

Sheila has been a regular volunteer in the bookshop at Jews' Court and for several years managed the purchase of gifts for sale in the shop.
