The Bookshop, established in 1988, sells SLHA publications and books on Lincolnshire's heritage, as well as general books on family and local history. Its collection of Lincolnshire books is the largest anywhere.

The shop also sells good quality second-hand books (both fiction and non-fiction), maps, booklets and journals. All these items have been donated by members and friends; the society does not buy books.

The postcard collection includes new cards on Lincoln and district as well as used ones with a wide range of locations.

The two rooms of the shop are named after Thora Wagstaffe (who, with her father, first set up the shop) and Don Dowson (who began the second-hand book sales).
