Externally, much of St Andrew's is Perpendicular in style, and dates from the late 14th century.
Inside, the Early English arcades and chancel arch are 13th century, while the chancel itself is 14th century.

Kelly's Directory of Lincolnshire 1919 states :-
"The church of St. Andrew is an ancient edifice of stone in the Early English and Decorated styles, consisting of chancel, nave, aisles, south porch and a western tower with crocketed spire and pinnacles containing 5 bells:
in the chancel are sedilia and a piscina, and the remains of two low side windows; at the east end of the south aisle is another piscina, and near it a hagioscope:
the octagonal font is a finely executed work, with panelled sides, exhibiting the arms of the Wake and other families; on the panel adjoining that which bears the Wake arms is a shield of arms believed to be that of the Black Prince, who married the heiress of the Wake lands:
in 1876 the chancel was restored, and the nave, tower and spire were substantially repaired the whole at a cost of £2,800, under the direction of, Mr. W. Butterfield, architect:
an ancient stone screen divides the nave and chancel; the latter has been elaborately decorated in colour by Mr Townsend, and has a gilt and coloured, reredos, enriched with mosaics:
the west window and all the chancel windows are stained :
there are 140 sittings"

The Stamford Canal passed through West Deeping a few yards north of the church and close by West Deeping Mill (fed by a branch of the river Welland).
Here, on what is now private property, are several surviving elements of a lock.
Stone was used to support the gates at either end but the sides of the lock were earthen banks.
