An odd-looking church.
Holy Trinity, Allington (West Allington to be exact) has a medieval west end with a bellcote perhaps from the demolished church of East Allington. The brick parts may be eighteenth-century.
Inside is an arcade dated to around 1200, seventeenth-century pulpit & gallery and monuments to the Williamson & Welby families.
Mark Acton, 2014

Kelly's Directory of Lincolnshire 1919 states
"The church of the Holy Trinity, West Allington, is a small but interesting building of stone and brick, in the Transition Norman style, with some Perpendicular windows, and consists of chancel, Nave of three bays, north aisle, south porch and a turret containing 2 bells: there are 130 sittings.
The register dates from the year 1559.
The living is a rectory, with East Allington annexed, net yearly value £260, arising from 362 acres of glebe, with residence, in the gift of the Lord Chancellor, and held since 1917 by the Rev. William Handcock Rowlands L.D. of Lampeter College.

East and West Allington were originally two separate parishes each with their own church.
The ecclesiastical parishes were united in 1872.
Saint James's church was demolished in 1947 and all that remains is the graveyard and a stone cross marking where the altar once stood.
White's History, Gazetteer and Directory of Lincolnshire 1872 states
"East Allington Church (St. James) is a small antique fabric, in the village, and was restored in 1855"
