The Methodist chapel on Beck Bank was built in 1935. Prior to this there had been both Primitive and Wesleyan Methodist chapels in the settlement. 

This chapel was built shortly after the unification of the Methodist churches in 1931,

The interior of St Hugh's shows the simple timber-framed structure with tie beams.

The furnishings and stained glass are by Comper.

St Hugh's viewed from the east.

Throughout the building the windows are constructed in oak but, unlike the plain Perpendicular style of those in the nave, the chancel windows have pronounced cusps.

This small, attractive church was built in 1902-04 by Bucknall & Comper.

The nave is timber framed with pebble-dashed facing.

The wooden windows are Perpendicular in style.
