The impact of the rampant ivy has been reduced but it remains a dominant feature of the west wall.

The chancel was added in 1880. It was built in Monk bond*, a brick bond rarely found in churches (usually either Flemish bond or English bond)

* Monk bond is similar to Flemish bond. In both bonds each course of bricks is identical. Flemish bond has alternate stretchers (S) and headers(H) (so the sequence is SHSHSH...); Monk bond has two stretchers and a single header alternately (SSHSSHSSH ...)

A delightful organ case, probably of the same date as the church (early 19th century).

Remarkably, on a midweek afternoon in August, the organ was being played. To our consternation the organist said he proposed to repaint the organ case.We did our best to dissuade him.

Entrance to Bailey Bridge Farm.

The 1903 map shows the vehicular entrance to the farmyard was via a long track from Kirton Drove to the west with only a footbridge across the North Forty Foot Drain accessing the nearby footpath. The Bailey Bridge was a modular steel bridge designed by Donald Bailey, a civil servant in the War Office. It was in use for military purposes by December 1941. How long this example has formed the main access point for the farm is not known nor what the farm was called before the bridge was installed..

The date of construction of the parish hall has not been found but the triple lancet window echoes the east window of the church where the chancel was added in 1880. The building is seen here across the westernmost-part of the churchyard.
