This impressive chapel was built in Barrow Road by the Primitive Methodists in 1877, the second PM chapel in the village.

The final service was held in 2006.

"A List And Brief Details Of Chapels In The Barton-On-Humber Circuit Past And Present" prepared by Colin Shepherdson September 1997 (Revised May 1998) states :-

i) A chapel was erected in 1858.

ii) A second chapel, also in Main Street, was erected in 1877. A new kitchen and toilets were constructed in 1974.

The chapel is still in use with a membership of 14"

Unfortunately the chapel was subsequently closed in 2006.

Christ Church on the main street (Barrow Road) in New Holland was built in 1901 by C Hodgson Fowler.

Christ Church is an unpretentious building, constructed in local red brick laid in English Garden Wall bond (3 rows of stretchers).

The church is now redundant.

The pier and dock at New Holland were created in 1848 by the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway.

This was the principal ferry point to Hull from Lincolnshire until the opening of the Humber Bridge in 1891.

Two paddle steamer ferries are in this view.

This is one of the relatively few Voluntary Joint Controlled Church of England and Methodist primary schools in the County.

The school was opened by Lindsey County Council as an all-age school in 1906.
