As Kelly's Directory of Lincolnshire 1905 puts it "A small stream, called the Skirth, sometimes navigable, and dividing North Kyme from Billinghay, passes through the parish, which is also traversed by the old Roman Car dyke"

North Kyme is sited 1.5 miles south of Billinghay in North Kesteven. It has a brick church built in 1877.

The village cross is fourteenth-century and was restored in the 1820s.

This quiet village street is now the busy A153 linking Sleaford with Horncastle.

Kelly's Directory of Lincolnshire 1919 states :-

"Public Elementary School (mixed), erected by the lord of the manor in 1866, at a cost of £800, for 110 children; Thomas Edward Smith, master

The School is under the management of six members; Joseph Torey, correspondent"

The school survived a closure attempt in 2004 but was closed on 31 August 2005"

St Luke's is a small brick building of 1877 by the Lincoln architects Drury and Mortimer.

The church consists of nave and chancel, with a buttress at the west end carrying an octagonal bell-cote and spire.

Kelly's Directory of Lincolnshire 1919 states :-

"The old church of North Kyme was pulled down at the Reformation; the present church of St. Luke, erected in 1877, at a cost of £1,400, is a structure of brick in the Late Gothic style, consisting of chancel, nave, south porch and on open belfry containing one bell:

there are 250 sittings:

divine service is conducted here by the vicar of South Kyme"
