St Peter's has an impressive 14th century broach spire and a long nave with Norman and Decorated arcades.

The chancel, with its three tall east windows, is largely Norman.

Kelly's Directory of Lincolnshire 1919 states :-

"The church of St. Peter is an ancient building in the Transitional, Early English and Decorated styles, consisting of chancel, nave, aisles, south porch and a western tower with spire containing 3 bells :

the chancel furnishes a singular example of the admixture of earlier styles, having three equal circular-headed windows separate on the outside, but connected in a continuons arcade on the inside ; the east end is good Transitional work ; the lower part of the tower is not much later; the upper portion and spire present one of the best examples of a heavy broach spire to be met with; the spire was struck by lightning in 1871, but restored in 1872:

the north aisle is Late Decorated and the font a combination of Early English and Perpendicular:

there is some good iron-work on the south door and several singularly carved bench ends of very late date:

at the east end of the chancel is a beautiful early triplet:

in the south aisle of the church are three stone coffins, with lids entire, which were removed from the churchyard about 1806; one of these bears the inscription, "Hic intumulator Johannes, quondam dominus de Trekingham,"for John de Trekingham, high sheriff in 1324:

the font bears the legend, "Ave Maria gratia P.D.P.;" and at the end of the nave are two recumbent effigies, on a low raised slab, of Lambert de Trekingham and a lady unidentified, the former in chain mail and flowing tunic and bearing a shield with the arms of Trekingham, c. 1245-1315:

White's Directory of Lincolnshire 1856 states :-

"The Church ( St Peter) is a large and well-built edifice, with a lofty tower crowned by a spire, and containing three bells.

At the east end of the nave are two recumbent effigies, said to represent" Lambert de Trekingham" and his wife.

In the church are several other curious, ancient monuments, one of the Fisher family, and another to Edward Dawson.

In the north aisle are three stone coffins, with their lids entire. They were removed out of the churchyard about fifty years ago, and one of them was supposed by Stukeley to have contained the remains of John de Trekingham, who was sheriff of the county in 1334.

Arthur Heathcote, Esq., is lord of the manor of Threckingham, owner of most of the soil, impropriator, and patron of the vicarage, which is valued in K.B. at £6. 6s. 8d., and now at £144, in the incumbency of the Rev Chas. S. Ellicott, M.A., of Whitwell Rectory, Rutlandshire, for whom the Rev O. P. Halstead, of Osbournby, officiates"

White's Directory of Lincolnshire 1856 has a listing "Wood Jph. vict. Three Kings" and also "at the Three Kings is a Lodge of Foresters".
