This chapel for the Free Methodists (later United Methodists) was opened in May 1878 and the last service held in December 1967.

It was sold for youth drama work in 1970 and is now the Broadbent Theatre, home of the Lindsey Rural Players.

Wickenby's former Free United Methodist Chapel was built about 1877. A modern porch has been added.

Originally built in 1842 and rebuilt in 1879, the school served the villages of Wickenby and Snelland. The school closed in April 1971.

G G Scott restored the church in 1878, and added the west tower.

There is a fine 13th century arcade, and windows in 14th and 15th century styles.

Other features are the 15th century screen and a 19th century reredos.

Kelly's Directory of Lincolnshire 1919 states :-

"The church SS. Peter and Lawrence is an ancient building of stone in the Late Perpendicular style, consisting of chancel, nave, south aisle, south porch and a western tower containing 3 bells:

the church was restored in 1878, at a cost of £3,084 when the tower was added:

the stained east window is a memorial to the Rev. Henry Nevile, rector from 1863, and was placed by his widow Charlotte Nevile, and there are others to his brother the Rev. Christopher Nevile, rector from 1830, and to the Rev. James EIletson Bigland M. A. rector 1878-89: 

the church was re seated in 1896:

the chancel was re seated in 1903, and an oak screen built in the tower in 1914:

there are 100 sittings"

"The nave and chancel are structurally undifferentiated, but there is a reassembled C15 screen of 4 lights to either side of the central opening which is surmounted by a cusped ogee arch.

The heads of the lights are cusped with mouchettes"
