In 2000 a series of events and an information leaflet were organised by the Industrial Archaeology Committee celebrating Lincoln’s industries. The event was launched at the Waterside Shopping Centre on 12 February.

The Lincolnshire County Library Service compiled a bibliography of published items on various aspects of Lincoln’s industrial history.

Eleanor Nannestad, Local Studies Librarian at Lincoln Central Library, undertook the work.

In May 2003 a History Fair was held in Washingborough Village Hall, with many local societies and organisations having stalls and advertising their activities.

The annual lecture at Raithby Methodist Chapel was shared between two speakers: Linda Crust (her theme John Wesley and Lincolnshire Methodism) and Dr John Crompton (The Lincolnshire Landscape in Tennyson’s Poems).

An afternoon's visit to Brocklesby led by Jon Sass began in the stable yard at Brocklesby Park and included a visit to the famous wooden clock attributed to John Harrison, 18th century clock and chronometer maker of Barrow on Humber.

The visit to Brocklesby also included entrance to the mausoleum to Lady Sophia, wife of the first Baron Yarborough. It was designed by Wyatt and built in 1786.

The voluntary work of Sheila MacPhail in several community organisations was recognised in a ceremony at the University of Lincoln on 6 December 2004.

Sheila has been a regular volunteer in the bookshop at Jews' Court and for several years managed the purchase of gifts for sale in the shop.
