Wilsford has a population of some 400 and lies seven miles north east of Grantham.

Amazingly the village retains a pub and a post office/shop.

The former school in School Lane is now a private house. 

"The school was originally opened on 13 April 1858 as a National School, and re-opened in 1877 after a closure of about nine months.

It was known as Wilsford School in 1877, Wilsford Myer's School by 1899.

It was reorganised as a Junior School on 2 February 1942, with children over eleven years old transferred to Sleaford Senior Council School.

The school was closed on 22 July 1987, with the children transferred to Ancaster School"

It was closed in 1969"

St Mary's church in Wilsford has a Perpendicular tower and Early English chancel with Decorated east window.

The nave contains Anglo-Saxon, Norman and Early English work. Kirk & Parry of Sleaford carried out restoration in 1860-61.

Church Guide states that an incised slab in the floor (now covered by carpet) records that the chancel was rebuilt by the rector Roger Warde who died 1477.

Restored in the Victorian period by Kirk and Parry 1860-1.
